LCD screens are commonly found in laptops, desktops, and televisions. LED screens are thinner and consume less energy compared to LCD screens. OLED screens are considered the best in terms of color reproduction, contrast, and viewing angles. Plasma screens are outdated technology and no longer available in the market.

Resolution

Resolution is the number of distinct pixels in each dimension that can be displayed. Higher resolution means better image quality. The resolution of a display is the primary factor in determining the quality of a display system. The various resolutions of display systems are 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p, and 4320p (commonly known as 4K). For regular use, a 1080p display system is inexpensive and provides good quality. Nowadays, 4K displays are becoming popular, especially for gaming and professional use cases.

Refresh Rate

The refresh rate is the number of times a display can redraw the entire image on the screen every second. A higher refresh rate means smoother motion and better visual quality. Most display systems have a refresh rate of 60Hz. However, gaming monitors have higher refresh rates of 120Hz or 144Hz.

Connectivity

Display systems come with different connectivity options, such as VGA, DVI, and HDMI. VGA is an outdated technology and not found in newer display systems. DVI is still found in some display systems. HDMI is the most common and modern connectivity option. HDMI supports better quality and higher resolution.
